Sew: Alder Shirtdress

Liz TubmanComment

One last summery wardrobe project finished just in time for an 85 degree September 1st.  I've been wanting to sew this one up for a long while.  For my first attempt at an Alder, I made view A and ended up hemming it into a top.  I'm really happy with how View B turned out.

I made a straight size 10 and it's very roomy and breezy - perfect for those really warm summer days.  My favorite part is the hem line - the gathers and curve at the back hem are perfect!  The only regret I have is wishing I would have gone down to a size 8 to make the waistline a little more fitted.  However, I'm still going to wear the heck out of this one and I think with a long or a cropped cardigan, booties and tights this will transition right into fall.
