My first finished sewing project of the summer was the new Willow dress from Grainline Studio - a spot-on summer staple that should work just as well as a layering piece during the colder months. I made the tank version out of some quilting cotton in my stash just to check the fit, and was almost able to finish sewing the tank and the dress in one Saturday. I made the dress out of a beautiful cotton + linen blend from Robert Kaufman - the fabric looks polished sewn up but the wrinkly-lived in look of linen gives it a casual feel.
Like the Scout Tee, this is a great beginner's pattern with simple seams and bias binding that gives the sewer a beautiful, functional garment that's really easy to wear. It's a total win; I can't wait to try this one out in another fabric! Bonus: it also pairs perfectly with the Driftless Cardigan!
